Pilgrim Diner Temporarily Closed by Exhaust Fire

The Pilgrim Diner, the place where you can count on a burger at 4 am 365 days per year, was temporarily closed by an exhaust fire which occurred during the lunch hour on Thursday, April 22nd. Everyone was evacuated as a precaution, but the fire was confined to the exhaust system.

When I called over that at 10:20 on Friday morning, I learned that everything is ready to go, the exaust repaired and some parts replaces and everything cleaned up. They remain closed pending the necessary inspections and hope to reopen tonight (Friday).

On a personal note, I recall going there at 4 in the morning after watching a meteor shower. After having spent the entire night in the cold, the glowing lights of the Pilgrim were a welcome sight. On another occasion, I recall taking one of my kids for a snack at 3 am when they could not sleep. Hard to think of them being closed even for a minute.

We wish them a speedy opening and looking forward to eating there again soon.
